Lauderdale if that means anything to you. There is nothing like South Beach, and it's far more scenic and beautiful than Ft. In South Beach you will see more of the young and beautiful set (not a bad thing), but this is not to say you can't have a great time there. Lauderdale definitely caters to a more seasoned gay clientele. It's only 45 minutes north of Miami and then maybe just rent a car for the day and explore Miami and South Beach.įt. Lauderdale instead as it has a lot more gay guest houses/hotels, bars, etc. You're only staying for 5 nights and extremely convenience if you are getting off a ship at the port of Miami. Ocean Blvd has a active nightlife (mostly straight) with lots of restaurants and the gay beach in near 12th Street and Ocean. Yes, it has a lot of young beautiful people, but you will also find a lot of Europeans and South American and regular American tourist too so I don't think you'd feel too out of place. Miami and South Beach has a lot of see and do especially if you haven't been there before. We’re not into the bar/club scene anymore. We are avid beach lovers, like sightseeing and good restaurants. Not having been there before, I am unsure. My hubby thinks South Beach is really for younger people, not people our age. We’re thinking of renting a condo on Ocean Ave. My husband and I, 62 and 60 respectively, want to spend 5 days in South Beach Florida after our cruise.
